8 Ways to Protect Yourself From Monkeypox

Anybody can get monkeypox, so it's time to start protecting
yourself. There are things you can do to reduce your chances
of getting it. The monkeypox vaccine is in short supply right
now, so that may not be an option.

1. Don't try clothes on in the store.

If someone gets their pox germs on clothing and then you try it on,
you run the risk of getting it. If it's hot outside, buy the clothes first
and leave them in a hot car for a day or two so the germs will die.
You could also buy the clothes and leave them in a bag for two
weeks and then try them on.

2. If your skin touches public surfaces wash off as soon as possible.

If the public surface is in bright sunlight you're probably OK,
    because of the UV rays.

3. Don't touch your face with unwashed hands.

It seems like common sense, but I see a lot people touching their
faces in public. I also see people licking bags, biting their nails,
    sucking on their fingers, etc.

4. Wear a mask in public and around people you don't know.

With monkeypox being a virus, it can spread through the air. If
somebody sneezes and you're not wearing a mask you better run.

5. Wash your hands before you leave work.

Everything you touched throughout the day is still lingering on
your hands. You don't want to transfer those germs to your home.

6. Wash your hands as soon as you get home.

Don't feed the dog. Don't pour yourself a drink. Don't turn on the TV.
Go wash your nasty hands first.

7. Clean your dirty cellphone off after you get home.

While you were holding your phone what else were you touching?
Did you take it in the restroom? Were you working or shopping
when you were holding your phone? Clean that filthy thing off.

8. Wash you hands before and after using a public restroom.

If you go to the restroom with dirty hands, all that dirty is gonna
be on your privates. I heard monkeypox really hurts down there.
